Yorkshire Garden Centres to join the Tillington Group

Yorkshire Garden Centres have announced that they are to join the Tillington Group.  The Bradford based business took over Tong Garden Centre in 2015 and now operate six centres across Yorkshire from the base at Tong.

Mark Farnsworth, Managing Director of Yorkshire Garden Centres, said: ‘This is a very exciting opportunity for our business, although we have very mixed emotions as we are very sorry to be leaving the Prosper Group. We are very grateful to everyone in the Prosper Group who has made us so welcome over the last year and we wish them all the very best for the future.  However, we have been a long time admirer of the Tillington Group and when the opportunity arose to join, it was an opportunity that we could not turn down. The Tillington Group is extremely well established and we felt that, at this stage, they would be better placed to offer us the support that we need to continue to profitably grow our business.  We are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with and learning from all the Tillington members.'

Caroline Owen, Tillington Chair and Managing Director of Scotsdales Garden Centres commented: ‘We really are looking forward to Mark and his team joining us. We feel that their business is very well aligned with our existing members and we know that this hasn't been an easy decision for them. However, we are extremely confident that they will greatly benefit from being part of Tillington and that the group will also benefit from having them on board. This really is an exciting chapter for the group.'

Yorkshire Garden Centres will officially join the Tillington Group on the 30th September 2024.
