Mr Plant Geek Weekend comes to Gordale

 

Gordale Garden Centre as announced itsi first-ever Mr Plant Geek Weekend, set to take place on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th, 2025. 

 

This exciting new event will be hosted by Michael Perry, also known as Mr Plant Geek, one of the most influential people in the gardening world, as listed in the Sunday Times. As a self-professed plant geek and TV personality, Michael is set to inspire gardening enthusiasts with his knowledge, energy, and passion for plants.

 

This will be the first time Mr Plant Geek Weekend has been hosted at a UK garden centre, and we are excited to bring it to Gordale for our customers and the wider community.

 

Event Highlights

Saturday, April 5th:

  • Talk: Grow This. Not That. What’s Hot at Gordale
    11:30am & 3:00pm
    Michael Perry will showcase the best plants for your garden, offering expert advice on what to plant now for the best results. The session will be followed by a Q&A session, book signing, and a photo opportunity.
  • Demo: LED Terrariums
    1:30pm
    A hands-on demonstration where you can learn how to create beautiful and stylish LED terrariums, perfect for adding greenery to your home.

Sunday, April 6th:

  • Talk: Weird and Wacky Plants
    11:30am & 2:30pm
    Discover some of the most unusual and quirky plants that can add a fun twist to your garden. This talk is designed for plant lovers of all ages, with a chance to ask questions, meet Michael, and get your copy of his book signed.
  • Demo: Barakura – Plants as Art
    1:00pm
    A creative demonstration showcasing how plants can be used to create living artwork in your garden or home.

Free Entry and Drop-In Format

All talks and demonstrations are free to attend and will be operated on a drop-in basis. No advance booking is required, and everyone is welcome to join in the fun and inspiration throughout the weekend.
