More Solus jobs to go as Edinburgh depot closure is announced
Four more Solus employees are likely to lose their jobs following the closure of the company’s Edinburgh distribution centre, the administrators, PwC, announced yesterday (Friday). PwC said Scottish customers were being contacted to confirm arrangements to serve them from the Midlands. The closure was down to “the financial position and reduction in trading”. Joint administrator Tony Barrell said discussions were continuing prospective puchasers. “We expect to receive offers in the near future and remain hopeful of completing a sale,” he added. Mr Barrell said trading was holding up well elsewhere in the business. “Customers are continuing to order product, purchases are being made from suppliers and we are now close to getting to a business as normal state as possible in these circumstances."
