The UK garden industry is mourning the death of Kenneth (Kenn) Lloyd, who passed away peacefully on 25th May 2025, aged 80, after a short illness.
Kenn was a former international business executive with Shell & Kimberly Clark, and founder of Cadbury Garden Centre in Somerset – a thriving enterprise he created with his wife Jackie in 1982
Together, Kenn and Jackie transformed a small nursery into a leading business in the horticultural industry, helping inspire the garden centre model as we know it today.
Son Richard said: "Known for his vision, tenacity and kindness, Kenn was a devoted husband, inspiring father, proud Poppa, and loyal brother. He lived with resilience, generosity, and an enduring belief in others. Deeply loved and greatly missed."
A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life – contact the family for details.
Kenn was an inspiration to everyone in the industry. He will be much missed by the Cadbury community. Kenn was a true visionary and he and Jackie built an amazing business. My thoughts are with the family.
