Adam Frost to open Grantham Garden Centre

Celebrity gardener and BBC presenter Adam Frost will cut the ribbon at 9 am to officially open the new Grantham Garden Centre on Good Friday, 3rd April.

British Garden Centres  acquired the former Downtown Garden Centre site at Gonerby Moor at the end of January. Since then, the team has been working tirelessly to restock and revitalise the store and restaurant, transforming it into the premier gardening destination for the area.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 9 am. Adam Frost will lead the celebrations and share his expert horticultural insights with a talk for visitors during the morning. Adam is best known as a main presenter on BBC Gardeners’ World. With a career spanning over 30 years, he is a seven-time RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winner. His passion for design and belief that gardens should be "spaces for people" make him the perfect guest to mark this new chapter for Grantham Garden Centre.

Exclusive opening offers

To celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers through the doors on Friday morning will receive a special goody bag filled with gardening treats to kickstart their spring planting.  Our friendly team will be on hand throughout the day to help customers sign up for the exclusive Family Card scheme. 'Those who join during the opening weekend can enjoy opening celebration offers in the garden centre.

Exciting changes in-store

Visitors to the new Grantham Garden Centre will discover a wealth of exciting changes. The centre now boasts an expanded selection of plants, sundries and gardenware, including an outdoor furniture range exclusive to British Garden Centres. The shopping experience also includes a fantastic lineup of concessions, offering everything you need for the home and garden under one roof. Featured brands include Maidenhead Aquatics, Hobbycraft, Granite Kitchens, Apricot, Tigi and Lighthouse.

A family destination

The restaurant has been fully revitalised with a fresh look and a redesigned menu, offering a wider range of options for every appetite. A highlight of the transformation is a brand new on-site carvery, the perfect setting for a relaxed family lunch after a morning exploring the centre. The popular soft play area also remains, ensuring there is something to delight every member of the family.

Natalie Skins, Centre Manager at Grantham Garden Centre, said: “Grantham is a fantastic community, and we are absolutely thrilled to be putting down roots here. This garden centre has always been a much-loved destination for local families, and it's our mission to make it even better, a place where people of all ages can come together, get inspired, and enjoy a wonderful day out. We can't wait to open our doors and become a real part of the Grantham community for years to come."

Amy Stubbs, Managing Director of British Garden Centres, said: “Acquiring this site was an exciting moment for us, but what the team has achieved in transforming it in such a short space of time has been truly remarkable. We have invested significantly in making sure Grantham has a garden centre that matches the very best in our group, and we are confident that local families are going to love what we have created. We look forward to welcoming you.”
