Man jailed after attacking woman in Fermoy's car park
A man has been jailed after attacking a woman in the car park of Fermoy's Garden Centre car park in Ipplepen.
Daniel Gimblett, 50 of Kellock Drive, Totnes, had been charged with assault following an incident that took place on March 17.
The woman had been seen in difficulty by shoppers at the garden centre and police were called following the disturbance.
Gimblett pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at Plymouth Magistrates' Court.
He also admitted breaching a suspended sentence order sentence order made in 2014 for the offences of harassment and assaulting a police constable.
Gimblett was jailed for four months as the offence was committed in public and because of his previous convictions for violence.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.
