The Apple Tree Restaurant in Yeovil wins Gold at Taste of the West

The Apple Tree Restaurant at Brimsmore Gardens in Yeovil has been awarded Gold in the Café/Tearoom category at the Taste of the West Hospitality and Retail Awards.

Described by the judges as a ‘real gem in the Somerset countryside’, The Apple Tree Restaurant, which is part of The Gardens Group, shone through for its commitment to local sourcing, welcoming atmosphere and customer service.

As well as receiving praise for procuring much of its produce from within a 25-mile radius, The Apple Tree Restaurant was also commended for clearly communicating this with diners, by providing producer names and locations on the menu.

Judges also applauded the variety, value and execution of the dishes on the menu, describing them as creatively plated and very inviting. Praise was also heaped on the team for their presentation, knowledge of the menu and suppliers, and their engaging and attentive service in a busy environment.

Kate Soan, manager of The Apple Tree Restaurant, said; “This is such a fantastic result for the whole team, who work incredibly hard to create a warm and welcoming space for our community. Sustainability is a core value for us, so we take extra care to ensure everything we are serving can be traced back to its origin and take great pride in sharing this with our customers. To have our core ethos and principles recognised by Taste of the West is the best seal of approval we could ask for – giving us a wonderful accolade to spotlight what we have worked hard to create here at The Apple Tree Restaurant.”
