Scotsdales hosts over 165 guests for ‘Ladies Night’ event

Cambridge-based garden centre, Scotsdales, kicked off its year of charitable initiatives with a ‘Ladies Night’ event that raised over £1,245 for Breast Cancer Now and Greenfingers charity.
 The Great Shelford branch of Scotsdales was bustling, with over 165 guests, both young and older, there to show their support for the charities. Guests enjoyed speciality drinks and chocolate tastings, as well as master classes in floral arranging and scarf tying.
Following on from the success of ‘Ladies Night’, Scotsdales is sponsoring the ‘Greenfingers Charity Garden Re-Leaf Day Walk’ on Friday 17 March 2017.
The third annual Garden Re-Leaf walk is hoping to raise over £12,000 for Greenfingers Charity and spread awareness for the industry’s main fundraising day. Hundreds of walkers are expected to join in, with the option of either a 20-mile or more leisurely 10-mile walk. The walk starts at Scotsdales in Horningsea and passes through the heart of Cambridge, including the picturesque Jesus College and the Botanic Gardens, before finishing at Scotsdales in Great Shelford.

Becky Owen, Marketing and Development Manager at Scotsdales, said: “Scotsdales is delighted with the outcome of ‘Ladies Night’, our first charity event of the year. The evening raised vital funds for Breast Cancer Now which is dedicated to funding research into the disease, and Greenfingers Charity, which builds recreational and therapeutic gardens in the grounds of children’s hospices.
“We’re hoping to see a strong turn out on Friday 17 March for the charity walk to continue our support.”
