Tomato plants outsell pot geraniums
Sales of tomato plants continue to grow and this week’s analysis of all plants sold in the GTN Bestsellers database showed that tomato plants outsold Pelargoniums (pot and bedding geraniums) by 12%.
Cucumer sales also grew and matched the levels of Sweet Pea (Lathyrus) plant sales.
The main highlights this week were:
- Tomato Tumbling Red Tom 8cm clung on to the top spot.
- Vigo Rosemary was the highest re-entry at No 5.
- Quantil Leek Strips were the highest climber, jumping 17 places to No 23.
- Quantil Watermelon Mini Love was the highest new entry at No 39.
