The Greenfingers Charity calls on Glee to get into full bloom for Floral Thursday

The Greenfingers Charity is reminding everyone heading to Glee on Thursday 10th September to make sure one essential item is firmly on their packing list: something floral!

Whether it is a bold floral shirt, a flower-covered suit, a fabulous dress, statement hat, colourful socks or simply a touch of botanical print, exhibitors and visitors are being encouraged to embrace Floral Thursday and help turn the final day of Glee into a colourful celebration in support of the children's hospice garden charity.

Now a much-loved part of the show, Floral Thursday sees the garden retail industry come together in its floral finest, raising both smiles and vital funds for the Greenfingers Charity, which creates beautiful, therapeutic gardens for children with life-limiting conditions and their families spending time in hospices across the UK.

Throughout the day, the Greenfingers team and friends of the charity will be welcoming visitors to the show, shaking their donation buckets and selling raffle tickets. And for anyone who forgets their florals, there will still be plenty of opportunity to get involved by making a donation and helping push the fundraising total even higher.

Floral Thursday takes to Centre Stage

The celebrations will come together at 12:30pm on Glee’s Centre Stage, when visitors and exhibitors are invited to gather for the Floral Thursday finale.

Not only will the raffle winners be revealed but there is an extra reason to join the crowd, as this year’s Floral Thursday will also attempt to make horticultural history with a world record attempt for the most people dressed in floral print in one photograph.  To make this happen, everyone at Glee is being encouraged to head to Centre Stage in their floral best and make sure they are part of the picture.

Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising and Communications at the Greenfingers Charity, said: “Floral Thursday is always one of those moments at Glee that captures just how brilliantly this industry comes together. Seeing the aisles filled with floral shirts, dresses, suits and all manner of fabulous outfits creates such a wonderful atmosphere, but behind all the fun is a really important purpose.

“Every raffle ticket bought and every donation dropped into one of our buckets helps us create more magical gardens for children and families spending time in hospices. We would love everyone at Glee on Thursday to join in, however big or small their floral contribution, and then come together at Centre Stage at 12:30pm for what promises to be a fantastic finale.

“And, of course, this year we want as many people as possible in that photograph. If we can combine raising vital funds with making a little horticultural history along the way, even better!”

Every penny raised through Floral Thursday will support Greenfingers Charity's work creating inspiring outdoor spaces at children's hospices across the UK, providing places where children, families, siblings and carers can spend precious time together away from the clinical environment.

So, when packing for Glee 2026, remember: Thursday means floral.
