Flower Trials declared a huge success on 10th anniversary

The 10th anniversary edition of the Flower Trials attracted more visitors than ever before, with growers, wholesalers and retailers attending from all corners of the globe.

In a four day period they discovered all the latest developments in the pot and bedding plant segment.

The 42 participants in the Westland, Aalsmeer and Rheinland-Westfalen areas presented their current assortments and novelties to a varied audience from more than 55 countries.

The surrounding European countries were strongly represented in the visitor numbers, but the event also attracted people from such far-off areas as Asia, the United States and Australia.

Once again, growers were the most strongly represented group. They took advantage of the Flower Trials® to gain a broad impression of the new market introductions and assortment to help them with their choice of crops and varieties. Wholesalers learned of new trends and developments from the source, and gave essential feedback for the direction of future developments.

They also met their own customers, since buyers and representatives of supermarket and garden centre chains were also present in significant numbers.

The Flower Trials formed an ideal meeting place for all links in the industry chain, not only in an efficient manner but also in a relaxed and pleasant environment, an attractive alternative to the meeting room table. In future months all that networking and brainstorming will undoubtedly lead to surprising new developments, co-operations and concepts.

The 10th Anniversary Flower Trials will donate more than €3,000 to their chosen charity, The Hunger Project. The Hunger Project is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against chronic hunger in the world. The individual participants also organised collections for the charity at their own locations.
