The Garden Group’s spectacular new displays light the way for a more conscious Christmas

Aladdin’s Cave, Fairy Tales, an Enchanted Woodland and a Gingerbread Kitchen are among this year’s new Christmas display themes at Brimsmore Gardens in Yeovil, Castle Gardens in Sherborne and Poundbury Gardens near Dorchester.

Taking people and planet into consideration, these magical displays have been constructed using repurposed and recycled materials, while many of the decorations and sustainable gifts have been sourced from small scale makers and fair-trade businesses, with the hope that they last a lifetime and are passed down through families.

Having been in the planning since January and consciously constructed behind closed doors throughout September, the glistening and immersive Christmas displays are brimming with hundreds of glass baubles, twinkly LED lights, recycled candles and plastic free toys. With soft toys made from recycled plastic, bug hotels and recyclable gift wrap available throughout the displays, visitors can shop in the knowledge that their Christmas will have as little impact on the environment as possible, while being able to cherish the first Christmas without social restrictions in three years.

Brimsmore Gardens, Castle Gardens and Poundbury Gardens’ Christmas displays, are all now open to the public seven days a week until Christmas Eve.
