APL Avenue at BBC Gardeners’ World Live winners announced
|
Last year, the APL launched a competition in conjunction with BBC Gardeners’ World Live to give the opportunity for Contractors and Designers to feature five gardens, which are inspirational, aspirational and relatable, at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2016.
The five front or back gardens will feature on the APL Avenue, giving the public the opportunity to witness first-hand what can be achieved in a small space.
To ensure top-quality design and construction each garden will receive a contribution towards the build. Marshalls have also sponsored the APL competition, supplying products from their domestic range.
Landscapers are asked to produce a breakdown of costings to share with the public to give a greater understanding of the costs of a garden build.
The five finalists for the competition are:
- Big Fish Landscape (Hereford) designer Olivia Kirk
- The Gardenmakers (Warwickshire) designer Claudia de Yong
- Genesis Landscapes (Cambridgeshire) designers Jean Wardrop and Alexandra Stevenson
- MJM Landscapes (Lancashire)
- Stone and Leaf (Essex)
The finalists were selected from APL members. All the submissions were very strong and the panel had a difficult job selecting them. The judges were Adam Frost (Adam Frost Landscapes), Joe Swift (Gardeners' World), Lucy Hall (BBC Gardeners' World Magazine) and Andrew Fisher Tomlin (Fisher Tomlin and Bowyer).
