West Yorkshire garden centres' Grinchmas parties raised over £2,000 for charity

Teams at two West Yorkshire garden centres are celebrating after their themed Christmas parties raised over £2,000 for their charity of the year.

The Grass Hoppers team at Tong and Tingley Garden Centres hosted two ‘Grinchmas' playtime parties in their Grass Hoppers soft play centres as part of their fundraising campaign for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The parties included play time, a meet and greet with the Grinch and his elves, access to the disco room, food and a toy of the child's choice.

"We're really pleased that the contribution of these unique party sessions raise our fundraising total to £16,860 of our target of £19,000 for the year," said Caroline Ellis, Group Play Manager.

"Thank you to RMS Toys, Padgetts Toys, Potts Bakery and Atlantic Workwear for their generous donations that meant that we had more money to donate to Yorkshire Air Ambulance."

Tong and Tingley Garden Centres are members of the Yorkshire Garden Centres family that also owns the former Stephen H Smith's Garden Centres in Otley and Bingley.

Through a series of fund-raising events and collection boxes at the tills, Yorkshire Garden Centres hope to raise funds for the independent charity that relies solely on the donations of individuals and organisations to provide its lifesaving rapid response emergency service to five million people throughout Yorkshire.
