Hundreds of schoolchildren have been taking part in Squire’s Garden Centres “Grow Your Own Chips” competition.
Back in March Squire’s staff showed them how to plant their own pots of potatoes and care for them. In July the children came back to get their potatoes weighed, and see who had grown the most.
After the weigh-in, the potatoes were turned into chips in Squire’s Café Bar and served up to the delighted youngsters.
