The latest batch of award-nominated novelties at Plantarium 2017 (Boskoop, Holland, 23-26 August) includes Clematis viticella ‘Pernille’ entered by J. van Zoest B.V from Boskoop. ‘Pernille’ produces 6-9cm diameter blooms in beautiful purple shades with white in each flower from June until September on current year’s growth. A hardy climber with stems of 2-3m , it has pinnate green foliage. It shouild be pruned to 25 cm above the ground in March. Zone 6. Plant protection rights have been applied for.
