Alan Down is HTA President, Will Armitage becomes Vice-President, Boyd Douglas-Davies becomes chair of OHRG

Alan Down has duly been elected HTA President at the HTA AGM last week and in his first weekly "Message from the President" video, posted on You Tube, he announces that Will Armitage is to be the new Vice-President.

Boyd Douglas-Davies becomes Immediate Past President and at the AGM, James Barnes, whilst summing up Boyds Presidency during the HTA AGM on Friday, announced that Boyd has become Chair of the Ornamental Horticulture Roundtable Group (OHRG). This is a two-year appointment.

The OHRG is a body of industry leaders and innovators, including retailers, gardening charities and industry bodies, that have been championing the immense value and benefits of ornamental horticulture to safeguard the nation’s future.

The HTA Conference takes place on Wednesday 14th September at the ICC in Birmingham.  The Conference will ask:

  • What will our industry look like?
  • How will the accelerating pace of change impact the way we live?
  • What does the retail revolution look like?
  • How will automation, artificial intelligence and the metaverse change the world we live in?

Find out the answers to these questions, network with your industry peers and enjoy a day of insights into 2030.

Speakers include: Adventurer, TV Presenter and Author - Simon Reeve, The Plant Geek - Michael Perry, Community Gardener - Tayshan Hayden-Smith, Chief Economic Advisor, CEBR - Vicky Pryce and Director of Consultancy at Foresight Factory - Josh McBain

The GTN Team look forward to meeting you at the Conference.
