Five men from the Bristol area have been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary at a South Devon garden centre.
Jack’s Patch Garden Centre in Newton Road, Bishopsteignton, was targeted on Monday, January 6, between 9.10pm and 9.40pm.
Sgt Sara Middleton said: “It appears there was an attempt to enter the property by forcing the doors at the rear but fortunately this was unsuccessful.”
Police said they believed five suspects were involved and were travelling in a silver Vauxhall Corsa and black Vauxhall Astra.
The police helicopter was called to assist in the search.
A Corsa was stopped later in the Bristol area and three male suspects were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary by officers from Avon and Somerset Police and taken into custody in Bristol. They were aged 16, 17 and 18.
A 22-year-old and a 30-year-old were later arrested in connection with this offence.
All five men have been released on police bail until March 12.
