Stubbings Nursery in Maidenhead was cordoned off for over an hour on Thursday by the fire service following an oil spillage from a 11,000 volt transformer.
Alarms were raised at about 1.30pm at Stubbings Estate in Henley Road after the wall mounted transformer caught fire.
Oil dripping from the 11,000 volt transformer onto cars worried the firefighters who set up a 20m cordon to keep the public away.
Southern Electric staff arrived soon after and took over from the firefighters who left by 3pm.
