Growing media sales volumes in GTN Bestsellers for last week compare favourably versus the past two years but took a drop on the previous week as cold and wet weather forced customers to put gardening activities on hold.  

High growths in top soil and lawn seeding soil indicates that when the weather warms up there is plenty of activity waiting to happen.

Star performers this week include:

• Scotts Levington Organic Choice Top Soil (25 litres) is this week’s highest re-entry at No 26.
• Westland Gro-Sure Lawn Seeding Soil is a new entry at No 31 with a 147% sales increase.
• 20 litre bags of Scotts Levington Ericaceous compost is the highest chart climber, up 26 places – a good link sale with rhododendrons and other acid loving plants.
