Tomatoes and Cosmos all the rage for 2016

Mr Fothergill's is hoping to increase retail sales of tomato and cosmos seeds in 2016 by launching a bespoke hotspot stand featuring many varieties of the two in response to an initiative led by the home gardening division of Fleuroselect.

The organisation trials and assesses new flower varieties from around the world to determine their suitability for European conditions.

Mr Fothergill's Tracy Collacott is the sole UK seed company representative on the Fleuroselect Home Gardening committee.

"Tomatoes are already hugely popular with our customers, while there has been a large amount of great new breeding work on cosmos in recent years," says Tracy.

"We hope that by focusing on both we can give our stockists additional sales during 2016".

The stand features 16 varieties of tomatoes and 15 varieties of cosmos, including several new additions to the Mr Fothergill's range;  these include tomatoes Suncherry Smile F1, a sister variety of the renowned Sungold, Red Bodyguard F1, Bountiful F1, and cosmos Hummingbird Pink.

For more information on how Mr Fothergill's can boost stockists' profits, please telephone 01638 554111, log on at www.mr-fothergills-trade.com or e-mail info@mr-fothergills.co.uk
