There’s still time to visit the Ball UK Summer Showcase in Oxfordshire, to see more than 2000 new and experimental varieties of shrubs, along with seasonal and perennial plants which may be coming to the market in 2025, plus retail concepts to help sell more plants.
Open from 23rd- 24th July (book in advance), expect to see the now iconic Tree of Life ladened with baskets brimming with the Petunia ‘Bees Knees’. Said to the clearest yellow on the market, plants are in tip top condition and are ably demonstrating their weather resistance.
At 11am on each open day, there is a presentation highlighting some of the new varieties likely to be on planteria benches in 2025 and beyond. Look out for Petunia Tumbelina Julianna and Lanata ‘Passion Fruit’ which were putting on a good show.
As in past year, visitors from all sectors of the horticultural industry, are encouraged to put a blue flag next to the plant they like the best. Results will be posted at the end of the Summer Showcase and can provide an useful insight into what might be in demand next year.
