When Haskins acquired Forest Lodge Garden Centre, it was in the process of transitioning its hard landscaping product range over to Meadow View Stone. This presented an opportunity for Haskins to witness firsthand the benefits that Meadow View could offer, both in the uplift in sales and customer service levels.
With Forest Lodge seeing significant benefits, Haskins then trialed Meadow View Stone exclusively in their West End Store, leaving the other stores with their previous supplier for a 12-month period.
The sales and service levels were then compared across the branches and the results speak for themselves, with the West End store substantially out performing any of the other centres :
- Rockery sales increased by 150%.
- Aggregate sales increased by 26% compared to only 11% at other centres.
- Paving sales increased by 11%.
- Four of the top five selling products were exclusive to the Meadow View Stone offer.
- The above resulted in 40% of all sales turnover in the aggregates category coming from products that were exclusive to Meadow View Stone.
Sarah Hayden & Kate Sharman-Courtney then visited Meadow Views 24-acre southern production facility at Rye, where the companies vast stock holding and production facilities, gave them the confidence that Meadow View would be a dependable supply partner for the group.
This resulted in an exclusive supply agreement for all Haskins stores for the foreseeable future.
The transition within all the stores is now complete, with Meadow View Stones Managing Director, Sarah Hill stating: “Haskins are a fantastic account whose business strategy works closely in synergy with our own, offering premium quality products with a point of difference. Our team have worked hard to secure the opportunity that Haskins provided us, and we will continue to develop and progress this exciting trading relationship.”
