Gloves specialist Globus is to launch its fully biodegradable multi-purpose glove to the media at this year’s Garden Press Event at The Barbican on 12 February.

The glove, the SHOWA 4552, features Eco Best Technology™ (EBT) within the liner and sponge nitrile coating, designed to make it attractive to microbial activity in landfill. Upon consumption of the EBT formulation, micro-organisms excrete enzymes that depolymerise the nitrile, leaving just biogases and inert humus, speeding up degradation. Normal nitrile take decades, if not hundreds of years to biodegrade in landfill.
