British Garden Centres prepares for biggest Garden Re-Leaf Day yet

British Garden Centres is gearing up for Garden Re-Leaf Day (Friday 20th March), with all 78 stores coming together to organise a variety of fundraising events in support of Greenfingers Charity. With an ambitious goal to raise £100,000 in total throughout 2026, the group is committed to making a significant difference and doubling the £52,000 it raised last year.

Throughout the centres, teams will hold numerous fun and engaging fundraising activities, providing customers and teams with exciting opportunities to participate and contribute to this worthy cause. Events will include raffles, cake sales, bingo nights, quizzes, fancy dress competitions, tombolas, and creative 'Naming' and 'Guess the Number of' competitions.

Beyond in-store activities, team members from various centres will undertake personal fundraising challenges, ranging from sponsored walks and cycle rides to marathons, long-distance trekking, and endurance events. The teams at Leeds and Harrogate are climbing Mount Snowdon, and Brigg are biking the distance between every centre over 5 days.

Tring Garden Centre will once again be hosting the Garden Re-Leaf southern walk challenge, with fundraising activities welcoming back participants and encouraging customers to get involved.

British Garden Centres staff are also taking on significant personal endurance tests to support the charity:

Libby Stubbs, Events Manager at British Garden Centres, said: "Garden Re-Leaf Day is a wonderful opportunity for our entire group to come together and support Greenfingers Charity. We're incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and generosity our team and customers have shown across all 78 stores. Every penny raised will make a real difference to the children and families supported by this vital charity."

Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising and Communications, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to British Garden Centres for the fantastic way they have embraced Garden Re-Leaf Day across all 78 of their centres. From fun in-store fundraising activities and hosting the Southern Walk at Tring to team members taking on personal challenges, including the London Landmarks Half Marathon, Mount Snowdon, and even Kilimanjaro, the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the whole group are truly inspiring. Garden Re-Leaf Day is the perfect way to kick start the gardening season, bringing customers, colleagues and communities together while raising vital funds to help us create beautiful hospice gardens where children and families can play, care, learn, grow and remember."
