Char-Broil appoints new team to fire up UK business

Char-Broil has announced that Ian Clifford joins Char-Broil UK as General Sales Manager, UK & Ireland, effective immediately.

He succeeds Luke Hopkins who, following several successful years building and expanding Char-Broil’s UK business, has decided to leave the world of BBQ for a new challenge.

Ian Clifford brings a wealth of experience in sales with high profile brands like Dunlop, Hovis and McCormick & Company. With over 10 years of experience in successfully building brands and strong customer relationships, Ian is ideally placed to lead and elevate Char-Broil UK’s business to the next level.

In a further boost to the UK Sales team, Andrew Foster, will join as Sales Rep UK/Ireland, also effective immediately.  Andrew comes with strong knowledge and experience from within the BBQ industry, having worked for Napoleon for more than three years and for Primo Grills for over 5 years.

Overseeing the UK team is Char-Broil Europe’s dynamic new Managing Director, Frerk Petersen who joined the business in March, based in the European HQ in Hamburg. Petersen has extensive experience with seasonal business areas: most recently as Managing Director of a European fishing tackle manufacturer. He has also worked for Char-Broil’s parent company WC Bradley and is familiar with the company’s values and culture.  With a proven track record in motivating teams to success, Char-Broil is delighted to have Petersen at the helm of the 40-strong European team of the world-famous grill manufacturer.

Of the UK’s new team Petersen says: “We’re delighted to welcome Ian and Andrew to the Char-Broil family, and believe that their wealth of experience and high levels of motivation will help further build the brand in the UK.

“We want to keep delivering incomparable outdoor cooking experiences with our innovations – such as our patented TRU-Infrared™ technology and our App-controlled EVOLVE smart grill. We believe that this new team is fired up about spreading the word about our incredible product range, ramping up the UK business to even greater success in the years to come.”
