Cardwell GC offers free meeting place for local community
|
Local community groups, clubs and societies are being offered a place to meet free of charge at Cardwell Garden Centre.
A newly-launched Knit and Natter Group has already met in a specially sectioned-off area at the centre’s Patio Restaurant.
And now other organisations can take advantage of the offer from bosses at Cardwell, near Gourock to provide a place to meet up during weekdays.
The Knit and Natter Group meets every Thursday at 10.30am and one of the organisers, Pauline Locke said:
“It’s known that Einstein would knit to help him relax and clear his mind, but you don’t have to be a genius to know that this is a great place to have our weekly get-togethers.”
Paul Carmichael, Cardwell’s retail general manager said: “We’ve been part of the community for many years and we’re always looking for ways to help out local people.
“Our Patio Restaurant is an ideal place for people to get together during weekdays. We’ve plenty car parking spaces and a regular public bus service drops passengers off at Cardwell Garden Centre.
“We hope to welcome local clubs and groups to Cardwell where they can meet up in comfortable surroundings free of charge.”
