Bird Care down 31% vs 2017 for March

 

It was a good week for Wild Bird Care sales compared to the last week of March 2018 but this didn’t help sales recover for the month which were 13% down on 2018 and 31% down on 2017. 

 

March 2017 didn’t have the severe weather we saw in 2018 so that comparison is a concern for this sector of garden centre sales. 

 

Highlights were:

  • Highest re-entry in the GTN Bestsellers Chart during Mothers Day was the Gardman Seed Feeder Premium Flip Top, presumably deemed an ideal gift line!
  • Westland Peckish Complete 2kg saw the biggest percentage sales increase to re-enter at No 35.
  • Gardman Suet Feast Triple Pack climbed 26 places up the chart to No 23.
