February starts with big wins for garden centres
Exclusive GTN Bestsellers garden centre Epos data analysis

The total volume sales of garden centres supplying weekly data to GTN Bestsellers for the first week of February 2022 was more than double that of 2021 and 31% up on the same week in 2019.

There were also big wins for garden centre teams in GTN’s Greatest Christmas Awards, which were announced at Spring Fair on Monday 7th February 2022.

As one of the judges said: “This process of meeting the teams who make Christmas happen in garden centres always leaves me feeling confident in the resilience of our trade, and 2021 was no exception.

“Despite all the challenges, garden centre teams applied themselves with imagination and good commercial sense to deliver Christmas ranges and displays which helped build their business. Not just at Christmas but also through the rest of the year as ‘delighted customers’ will often return in other seasons.

“And that creates another opportunity for us all: How do we continue to delight and inspire profitable sales throughout the year using the skills which we developed in the Christmas season?”
