Darlac’s new Tri-Blade Garden Shear won a Gold Award for ‘Best Garden Product’ at the DIY and Totally Tools Show this week.
MD Peter Darban (pictured below, celebrating the tool's launch) said it was “the icing on the cake” as large numbers of orders were taken throughout the show.
The Tri-Blade is exclusive to Darlac.
The unique three-blade configuration mean hedges and topiary can be trimmed in far less time than it would with a traditional two-bladed shear. In recent consumer-focused trials, users reported that greater speed is unquestionably one of the major benefits. The trials also reported improved accuracy of cut as the central blade remains static, whilst the outer blades cut against it.
The two outer blades of this high spec shear are Teflon coated to reduce friction and reduce the likelihood of rust forming in the metal, whilst the central blade is chrome armoured and completely heat-treated, not only to prevent rust but to act as a central point of focus. This in turn improves stability and adds ‘bite’ to the cut.
Unlike conventional shears, Tri-Blade shears outer blades are also heat-treated but to a different level than that of a traditional set, with particular attention to the cutting edge.
