West Yorkshire adventure play areas win regional award

The play teams at two West Yorkshire family attractions are celebrating after winning the ‘Top Spot for Little Explorers' category of the Yorkshire Tots to Teens Awards 2025.

Grass Hoppers indoor and outdoor adventure play at Tong and Tingley Garden Centres beat stiff competition from Dan's Den, Ilkley and Buttercups in Otley to win the award that champions family-friendly businesses throughout Yorkshire.

Yorkshire Garden Centre's group play manager, Caroline Ellis is delighted with the win: "We're absolutely thrilled to be crowned the Top Spot for Little Explorers in the Yorkshire Tots to Teens Awards! At Grass Hoppers Play, we're passionate about creating a clean, safe and fun space where children can play, explore and make memories. This award means so much to us, and we can't thank our amazing visitors enough for their support."

The Yorkshire Tots to Teens Awards, sponsored by Discover Ilkley and Yorkshire Tutors, celebrate the businesses that make family life in Yorkshire special. The inaugural competition attracted 1,500 votes across 14 categories from Best Family-Friendly Café to Best Family-Friendly Museum.

Grass Hoppers are located at Tong and Tingley Garden Centres in Bradford and South Leeds respectively. They are safe, secure and fun places for under 10's to enjoy a ‘proper playtime'.

Tong and Tingley Garden Centres are part of the Yorkshire Garden Centres family which also includes Otley, Bingley, York, Scarborough and Pennine Garden Centres.
