Brentwood planners to consider new garden centre proposal
A new garden centre could be built on green belt land at Hutton near Brentwood, creating 20 jobs, according to the Brentwood Gazette. Planning permission granted in August 2012 expired last year, leading to a fresh application for a single-block rectangular building plus 27 parking spaces. The application says the centre would open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from noon to 4pm on Sunday and Bank Holidays. The 0.7-acre plot of land was reported to have been listed for sale online at a cost of £175,000. The borough council will consider the application by May 10.
