The confirmed speakers and seminars at the HTA National Plant Show, sponsored by Hortipak, continues to grow with speakers such as Chris Collins, Kevin Waters and Tom Hart Dyke confirmed to make an appearance.
On Tuesday 23 June speaking in the seminar area sponsored by Barclaycard, Chris Collins will be giving a talk about ‘Love the plot you’ve got’. The ‘Love the plot you’ve got’ mission is to get people to discover the true value of their outdoor space. The garden is the most versatile room in the house, changing and offering something new as each day dawns. This talk aims to signpost all the benefits of gardens and their plant inhabitants.
Kevin Waters will then continue the day talking about ‘How to increase sales through responding to trends?’
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor is it the most intelligent.
It is the one most adaptable to change.”
Charles Darwin
The ability and willingness to change with the times has always been the success of the garden centre trade and currently it is more important than ever that we respond to the trends and present our plant offer in a meaningful, inspiring way which is capable of kick-starting our customers into action. Kevin will use examples from both outside and inside our trade to highlight some of the possibilities.
Tom Hart Dyke is a Modern-Day Plant Hunter, Passionate Gardener & Curator of The World Garden at his ancestral home, Lullingstone Castle in Kent, and will be opening Day 2, on Wednesday 24 June. His presentation will be an eclectic plant filled mix including: What sparked his interest in the wonderful world of plants; his time in captivity at the hands of Colombian Guerrillas; botanical stories from the developing World Garden and to top it off – further plant hunting tales to the far flung corners of our green globe’.
We are also proud to be the hosts of Nursery Fresh who will be launching a special rose raising funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The ‘Breakthrough Rose’ is championed by Nicki Chapman alongside the Breakthrough team who will speak about the project.
