Burgon & Ball Razor Hoe in Chelsea spotlight

Demand for Burgon & Ball’s popular Razor Hoe has seen a huge increase, following an appearance on the BBC’s TV coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show recently.

After featuring in the Medals Day edition of the BBC’s popular daily updates from the event, Razor Hoe was the star of the show and very much in demand. Its popularity continues as gardeners look to source this eye-catching tool once they return home.

Razor Hoe was shown in close-up on screen during a segment in which presenter Chris Bavin chose his top five must-have tools for a capsule gardening kit. He praised Razor Hoe for its versatility, as it’s ideal for weeding in beds and borders as well as for targeting weeds in paving.

With fresh stock of this popular tool available imminently, sales of the Razor Hoe are set to soar, as gardeners’ minds turn to the autumn tidy-up and on to Christmas gifting.

The screen time was a bonus for Burgon & Ball at this year’s unique autumn RHS Chelsea Flower Show. In its twenty-fourth year at the show, the Sheffield-based manufacturer returned to its high-profile position on Main Avenue, in among the show gardens.

The Burgon & Ball stand was recognised by the RHS judges for going above and beyond in its presentation, winning a coveted four-star award. A potting-shed themed display focused on autumn tasks like cutting back, dividing perennials, and bulb planting, creating an area which was not simply about product, but which offered an attraction in its own right, to enhance the Chelsea visitor experience.

Burgon & Ball managing director Rainer Schubert says: “We were delighted to get the BBC coverage for Razor Hoe; the impact it made on gardeners was immediate and very noticeable. To be one of just five tools selected from the whole of the show was a well-deserved accolade for this much-loved tool, which already has a bit of a cult following with both gardeners and allotmenteers.”

Razor Hoe is available in right-handed, left-handed and long-handled versions (RRP £20.99 - £29.99), meaning that there’s a Razor Hoe for every gardener.
