Squire’s Garden Centres have launched a free soil testing service...
Customers are invited to bring in a small handful of garden soil in a container to be tested for pH level. Advice about which plants should do well in their type of soil will be offered - alkaline soil for lilacs, poppies and peonies, for example, and camellias, rhododendron or azaleas in acidic soil.
Squire’s chairman Sarah Squire said: “We really want our customers to get the most out of their gardens and enjoy great results. One of the best ways to do this is to plant varieties that thrive in the soil you have. Therefore, we have launched our free soil testing service to make it easy to establish your soil type and plant accordingly. This also gives our customers the opportunity to talk to our plant experts and discuss how to improve their soil, and determine the best plants for their garden.”
