Zest 4 Leisure has delivered on its promise to support both Macmillan Cancer Support and the Greenfingers Charity in 2020, despite the original fundraising plans having to be changed because of the pandemic. £10,000 was raised for Macmillan, as well as £5,000 for Greenfingers.
The Macmillan donation is the result of the individual efforts of many Zest employees, who took part in a range of activities from the fun to the more challenging during the year. These included eating cake, running, a monthly 50/50 draw and raffling off an extra day's holiday, as well as a ‘Brave the Shave’ and leg-waxing initiative! Together, these contributed a total of £5,000 which the company then matched with a further £5,000.
The £5,000 raised for Greenfingers Charity, who create gardens for Children in hospices across the UK, was the result of a £2.50 donation per sale of Zest’s popular Tiverton Planter throughout 2020.
Steve Morgan, Managing Director at Zest 4 Leisure commented, “I’m proud of all the team at Zest for all their efforts this year.
"In the difficult circumstances created by the pandemic we have not only managed to meet the challenge of a completely changed working environment to deliver a successful year for the company with award-winning new products and outstanding customer service, but we have also delivered on our promises to our chosen charity partners.
"Charities have been hit hard by the pandemic in terms of fundraising income and it was important to everyone at Zest 4 Leisure to do their bit to help create a more positive future.
"We have decided to support Macmillan and Greenfingers again next year in the hope that we can raise even more money in 2021 and, of course, have some fun along the way."
