How will the Wyevale "Sale of the Century" play out?

 

With about £135m raised out of a target £442m and time dragging on even the national newspapers are now speculating on the future of the remaining 115 Wyevale Garden Centres.

 

The Financial Times last week reported:  "There have been several offers on the table, including from aggressive turnround specialists such as Alteri Investors, a unit of Apollo Global Management, according to people familiar with the matter. 

 

"One person close to Terra Firma said so-called vulture funds were unlikely to prevail in the bidding, however, as breaking up the business and selling off the rest of its sites individually would recover more value."
