Scholarships from horticultural companies – Deadline looms

Gardening students have just one week left to apply for a Sponsored Scholarship with the David Colegrave Foundation (DCF).  Horticultural companies are offering support by way of funding, study tours and work experience.

Among the sponsored scholarships are the British Protected Ornamentals Association - Peter Seabrook Bursary of £5,000 spread over five years to a student/s studying commercial horticulture; the Floranova Ornamental Horticulture Research Scholarship of £1,500 offering additional work experience for a student who is keen to pursue a research career in the horticultural industry, and the Ball Colegrave Scholarship of £2,500 to enable travel to Europe in order to develop experience in bedding plant production and marketing.

The DCF Sponsored Scholarships follow the Student Scholarships which received a record number of applications this year. Fifteen colleges across the UK put forward students from which five have been awarded £1,000 each by the David Colegrave Foundation (DCF). The successful students came from Bicton College, Capel Manor College, Scotland's Rural College - Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Myerscough College and Writtle College.

Students after a Sponsored Scholarship should get their applications in by 31 January 2014.
