A special ribbon cutting event has been held at Notcutts Booker Garden Centre, near Marlow, to celebrate the opening of the newly refurbished garden centre and restaurant.
Caroline Notcutt, Vice-Chairman, and Andrew Notcutt, Non-Executive Director, Great-Grandchildren of Notcutts’ founder Roger Crompton Notcutt, officially opened the garden centre with Steve Baker, MP for Wycombe; Cllr Chris Funnell, Mayor of Marlow; and members of the Notcutt family, local businesses, customers and the Notcutts team.
The refurbished garden centre now offers customers a bright and modern space to shop and feel inspired, with an improved layout and upgraded flooring and lighting throughout. The outdoor plant area has been expanded to offer more variety of plants and garden supplies, and the car park has been extended and re-designed to improve accessibility and parking for customers.
The popular restaurant at Notcutts Booker has also undergone a complete transformation, providing customers with a comfortable and spacious dining area for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.
The special event also marked the unveiling of a new display garden, designed to inspire local gardeners with creative ideas and plant combinations for their own outdoor spaces. The Notcutts Garden was designed and built by Notcutts’ Head of Visual Merchandising, Marco de Jongh; Plant Buyer, Stuart Andrews; and Garden Project Manager, Luke Rawson. The garden showcases Notcutts’ history of horticultural passion and expertise, and is themed on tranquillity with a large water fountain, structural pergola and over 300 plant varieties in calming pastel and white shades.
Stuart Blight, General Manager at Notcutts Booker said: “Thank you to the Notcutt family, Steve Baker MP, Marlow Mayor Cllr Chris Funnell, and all guests who joined us for our grand opening event. We are delighted with our new-look garden centre and restaurant, and our wonderful new display garden, which we hope will inspire our customers as well as providing an enjoyable place to shop, dine and relax.”
The Notcutts Garden is free to visit all year round at Notcutts on Clay Lane, Booker. Many of Notcutts’ 18 garden centres nationwide have a special display garden, with different themes and designs.
