Wyevale Garden Centres has launched a new range of own brand compost, which is now on sale in its stores nationwide. The UK’s largest garden centre group has partnered with Bord na Móna UK to supply a range of 19 varieties of growing media and soil improvers, with prices starting from £4.99. The range comprises peat and peat-free formulas including multipurpose and specialist blends, developed to offer customers a choice of products with a sufficient range and depth to satisfy every gardener’s horticultural needs. To coincide with the launch, Wyevale Garden Centres has introduced a guarantee on its compost; if used for domestic gardening purposes, according to the planting and care instructions on the package, and if a customer is not satisfied it will replace the compost free of charge.
Kevin Bradshaw, CEO, Wyevale Garden Centres, says: “Growing media is an incredibly important product category to us and we feel that our customers will be reassured by the introduction of our own brand range, building on our reputation for quality and expertise. Charles Farmer, Head of Consumer UK at Bord na Móna UK, says: “The range covers all the peat-based and peat-free bases including multipurpose and specialist blends such as ericaceous, rose, tree and shrub and tub and basket. It has been developed by Bord na Móna UK using the massive research and development resources of the premier global supplier in this category. The result encapsulates the company’s single-minded commitment to best in class and ensures the consumer can buy the very best performing product whatever the task in hand and whatever their preference in terms of peat and peat-free.” Chris Bridgeman, Centre Manager, Percy Throwers, a Wyevale Garden Centre adds: “We have been overwhelmed by the positive reaction we have received from our customers.
