Garden party to celebrate 30 years of support for students

The Colegrave Seabrook Foundation is celebrating its 30th year of awarding scholarships to students studying horticulture.

Originally set up in 1993 as the David Colegrave Foundation, in that first season 11 applications were received, and 5 scholarships awarded in the spring of 1994.  Today under the name of the Colegrave Seabrook Foundation, in recognition of the enormous input Peter Seabrook had to the work of the registered charity, we will see approaching 100 applications and up to 20 scholarship winners. The Foundation has also become more involved in promoting Horticulture as a professional career as well as encompassing a wider range of courses available to the students of today.

The Garden Party being held on 2 July 2024, takes place the week before the official opening of the Ball Summer Showcase at West Adderbury in Oxfordshire. Guests attending will be able to browse the stunning plant displays in the trial grounds, network with friends and colleagues in the industry and meet some of the students who have benefitted from being awarded a scholarship. Those in the industry who are familiar with the Ball trial grounds will already know the inspiration and innovation that will be on show for growers and those linked to the garden retail sector.

Special guests at the event will include the charity's Patron, Alan Titchmarsh MBE, and every guest will have the unique opportunity to enjoy this unique spectacular display of UK Horticulture and learn more of the work of the Foundation. Invitations for the event are already in high demand and ‘Save The Date’ notifications are already being sent out – check your email inbox to see if you are one of the lucky ones invited to this unique event!
