Haddonstone bird table sales soar

Cast stone garden ornament manufacturers Haddonstone have seen has seen sales of their bird tables increase by 53% as a result of the wintery spring weather.

The figure compares to March last year, when much of the country was basking in temperatures of more than 20C for part of the month. Despite the cold weather and snow this year, orders for bird tables have increased sharply. With an SRP of £99, the Arcadian bird table (pictured) has accounted for the majority of sales during the March upsurge.

“It goes to show that people are looking after the wildlife in this poor weather,” said marketing director Simon Scott.

Haddonstone make all products at their state-of-the-art facility in Northamptonshire, which utilises the latest vapour curing technology to ensure consistent, quality stone that exceeds the requirements of British and European standards.

The company will exhibit at the Chelsea Flower Show and BBC Gardeners’ World Live this year.
