Despite a colder end to the month, plant sales have started the year well with sales volumes up 9% on last year and 44% up on January 2017.
Throughout the month Primula sales have dominated in the GTN Bestsellers Plants Chart, accounting for 39% of the January Top 50 volumes and 23% of All Plant Sales.
Saintpaulia sales benefitted from the cold weather climbing 23 places to No 13 as customers sought indoor colour.
Of outside plants for colour, Sarcococca was the highest re-entry in at No 15.
Myosotis, Forget-me-not, saw a big rise in sales to re-enter at No 34.
