Despite a colder end to the month, plant sales have started the year well with sales volumes up 9% on last year and 44% up on January 2017.
Throughout the month Primula sales have dominated in the GTN Bestsellers Plants Chart, accounting for 39% of the January Top 50 volumes and 23% of All Plant Sales.
- Saintpaulia sales benefitted from the cold weather climbing 23 places to No 13 as customers sought indoor colour.
- Of outside plants for colour, Sarcococca was the highest re-entry in at No 15.
- Myosotis, Forget-me-not, saw a big rise in sales to re-enter at No 34.
