Tomato plant sales soar
The sales of tomato plants led the way during Mother’s Day week as the nation’s gardeners took the opportunity to get ahead with their veg growing for the summer.
Ten of the GTN Bestsellers Veg-2-Gro Top 20 lines are tomato plants with Tumbling Tom the most popular for the second week running.
The main highlights this week were:
- Tomato Shirley 8cm and Tomato Gardeners Delight 8cm filled the No 2 and 3 places.
- Quantil Tomato Beefmaster 8cm was the highest climber, jumping 30 places to No 17.
- Farplants Rosemary Common was the highest re-entry at No 18.
