Warwickshire based family business Hawkesmill Nurseries is offering a stunning selection of Japanese anemones for delivery this month.
The species of Anemone hupehensis was first named and described in Flora Japonica (1784), by Carl Thunberg. It is native to central China, though it has been naturalised in Japan for hundreds of years. Commonly known as the Chinese anemone or Japanese anemone, thimbleweed, or windflower, these are flowering herbaceous perennials in the family Ranunculaceae.
The Anemone x hybrid cultivars supplied offer three main colour options for welcome late summer and early autumn colour.
* 'Andrea Atkinson AGM' has white flowers that are touched with mint green and soft pink on the outside and with lobed leaves.
* 'Serenade' has large, dusky pink semi-double flowers with yellow stamens in the centre, over a mound of rich green foliage
* 'Bressingham Glow' has an abundance of rich pink multi-petalled blooms surrounding a centre of golden stamens, hovering above rich green foliage.
All are all supplied in 3-litre pots with large lock-in labels and a colour bed card. Orders contain 36 plants in the three varieties.
