Devon garden centre on the market for £1.5 million

Savills, on behalf of a private client, has brought to market the freehold interest in Noyces Home and Garden Centre in Kingsbridge, Devon at a guide of £1.5m. It is the first time the asset has been offered to market in over 20 years.

Noyces Home and Garden Centre is a long established family business. The garden centre includes a well-stocked DIY department with Dulux paint mixing alongside a full range of garden essentials, outdoor pots and locally sourced plants. The retail area is set out over two separate buildings, with additional covered outdoor space and extensive outdoor selling areas. There is also a homewares store and café with parking for at least 38 vehicles.

Noyces Home and Garden Centre is situated within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, beside the Kingsbridge and Salcombe Estuary and at the mouth of Bowcombe Creek. Its location on the edge of the busy market town of Kingsbridge means that Noyces is a well-loved retail destination serving the whole of the South Hams district. The business is directly accessed from the A379 which links Dartmouth and Torcross through to Salcombe, and offers excellent opportunity for passing trade.

The South Hams area is hugely popular with both second home-owners and tourists. The community of Kingsbridge has an excellent secondary school, a large primary school, a wide variety of independent businesses, supermarkets, a filling station, and a number of pubs and restaurants.

Chris Sweeney, Director in the Leisure and Trade Related team at Savills, says: “This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a profitable business with further development and growth opportunities.”
