Vital Earth launch SupaGrow as they split from Bord Na Mona
This summer Vital Earth and Bord Na Mona decided to split from their joint venture, which saw Vital Earth distribute the GroWise growing media range to national and independent garden centres in the UK since 2011.
Vital Earth still retain the same aim, which is to eliminate the use of peat and meet the government 2020 peat free target. In June 2017 further significant investment has been made into the in-vessel composting plant and the bagging operation at Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
Vital Earth have now entered a new agreement with the Aggregates R Us Group, which allows shared knowledge of packed products for the Garden Centre industry and a distribution network. In addition to this, Vital Earth provide a Nationwide delivery service and can offer next day delivery on all growing media products.
Vital Earth National Sales Manager Dave Gibbs said that due to the shared resource of both companies, the newly launched SupaGrow range offers a high-quality peat free compost at a delivered price; where garden centres can retain very high margin levels.
Vital Earth Operation Director Bob Potts confirms that the same reliable peat-free mix can be found, albeit in a new bag sold under the ‘SupaGrow’ brand. He also explains that with due to the recent investments, they are testing new blends for 2018 that can offer further alternatives to peat based composts.
