Aagrah Foods announces new listing with Dobbies

Award-winning Indian food brand, Aagrah Foods, has announced a significant retail listing for four of its ‘hero’ SKUs with Dobbies.

The new listing will see Aagrah’s popular Mango Chutney, Poppadoms, Plain Naan Breads and Garlic & Coriander Naans roll out from February into the food halls of 48 Dobbies stores nationwide.

The launch comes at a time when demand for authentic Indian food continues to expand.  The Indian retail sector, across all grocery channels is worth approximately £1.2b, growing year on year, driven by a rising interest in world cuisine and premium at-home dining.

Shezad Aslam, Managing Director of Aagrah Foods, said: “These products are some of our most popular accompaniments as they enable consumers to add tasty and importantly, truly authentic, finishing touches to home-cooked dishes.

“We are delighted that they will now be available in Dobbies stores across the UK especially as Indian food, now a quintessential part of British cuisine, continues to grow in popularity,” he added.

“Products like these are store-cupboard staples in many homes, and although consumers are increasingly drawn to experimenting with different flavours and the rich diversity of Indian cuisines, they still seek out traditional favourites to enhance and complement the dishes they cook and enjoy at home.”

Aagrah’s restaurant heritage and authentic recipes provide a strong point of difference in a crowded marketplace.  The Dobbies listing is the company’s third major UK retail listing; its growing retail presence also now sees it on the shelves nationally in Tesco and Morrisons, as well as in leading independent retailers, farm shops and online.

Beyond its award-winning cooking sauces, Aagrah Foods offers a vibrant range of authentic Indian products, including flavour-packed chutneys, aromatic spice blends and marinades, and breads and snacks such as naan and poppadoms.
