Average April means May Bank Holiday weather is crucial

 

After the Beast from the East, parts 1 and 2 that decimated trading in March, all that April could deliver was an average month for garden centre sales volumes.

 

GTN Bestsellers EPOS data analysis shows that volumes for the month were ahead of volumes in 2012, 2013 and 2016, but didn't get anywhere near the highs of 2011 or 2017 which owners and managers would have been hoping for to make up the March shortfall.

 

All is not lost however.  GTN Bestsellers prediction, based on sales matching the highest totals for each of the next 9 weeks we could get to plus 2% by the end of June.  

 

 

So the weather forecast for the next 10 days is all important and the Met Office have just published their forecast for the next 10 days which says that Monday may be the warmest Bank Holiday Monday on record.  See for yourself here:
